Ep. 46: Redefining Resilience and Learning to Give Yourself Grace

Ep. 46: Redefining Resilience and Learning to Give Yourself Grace

Episode 46: In this episode, Amanda discusses her recent struggles with creativity and mental health. She shares her experiences with intrusive thoughts, but the main theme of the conversation is resilience and grace in the face of traumatic experiences. Amanda explores different examples of resilience, including dealing with illness, divorce, and caregiving. Amanda reflects on her experience watching her mother care for a sick friend and the perspective Amanda gained regarding managing stress and maintaining one’s adaptability. She discusses the toll that caregiving can take on a person and the importance of setting boundaries. Amanda also shares her own struggles with self-doubt and finding her purpose, and emphasizes the need to keep pushing forward and encourages listeners to choose themselves in the face of difficult situations.

This episode’s mindset prompts are inspired by Danyele Wilson and our former guest/fellow podcaster, Eddie Pinero. Danyele is a Chicago-based fitness instructor, athlete, entrepreneur, and health and wellness content creator. Eddie’s podcast and media consulting business is called “Your World Within” and he has an extensive career as an author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and content creator.

Listen to our interview with Eddie: Temporary Uncertainty Leads to Unlimited Possibility | Guest: Eddie Pinero

Eddie Pinero’s Mindset Prompt: “Our lives aren’t shaped by the plans we make. Our lives are shaped by the ability to adapt and push forward when those plans fall through.”

Danyele Wilson’s Mindset Prompt: “[I am] Having a morning where I don’t want to get out of bed and if that’s you too, I want you to remember this: You have no idea what opportunities are waiting for you today. You have no idea what doors could open for you, the momentum you could spark and the divine plans you could set in motion by simply getting out of bed. God woke you up with purpose this morning. Walk [in it]. Be grateful. And keep showing up.”

Keep Up with Amanda
