429 Suicide Prevention Strategies with Niyc Pidgeon

429 Suicide Prevention Strategies with Niyc Pidgeon

When I called Niyc Pidgeon for this interview, I thought we would be talking about productivity and positive psychology. Instead, when I asked her about the work that was really energizing her lately, her answer surprised me: She's writing a book about suicide prevention. What's more, she finds hope and joy in writing about it — even though suicidal behavior has heavily impacted her own personal life.

We discuss the ripple effects suicidal thoughts and behaviors can have on communities, tips for talking to somebody you worry may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, and Niyc's own experience coping with suicidal thoughts after a sexual assault. Plus: Niyc introduces her next book, One More Day.
