You may recognize from The 100 (2020), and Get Shorty (2019). But did you know that Canadian actor, producer, and writer, Xaiver (Xavi) de Gutzman began his career as a professional boxer? First-generation Canadian of Pilipino decent, in this Janette’s TV & Podcast episode, Xavi sits down with Janette to talk about how fighting out of Southside Muay Thai in Toronto where he secured and defended his 2008 lightweight championship title in Canada, led him to his first on-camera role, without any acting experience, on ABC’s “Rookie Blue” as a boxer. Now, he’s portraying “Ethan”, in the critically acclaimed Neflix series, Maid (2021) which deals with the issues of domestic violence and abuse.
