Ep 436: When It's Out With The Old, and In With The New In Life

Start Your Transformation Now When do you know it’s time to let go of something that’s no longer working—your job, your relationship, your habits? In this episode of The Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim breaks down the emotional and energetic signs that it’s time to release what’s draining you so you can step into something new. He explores how to identify the thresholds and criteria that signal true change is needed—and why courage, not comfort, is the key to evolution. Drawing on personal experiences and stories from clients, Jim explains how to create clear decision criteria, tune into your intuition, and stop letting fear or guilt keep you stuck in unfulfilling situations. Whether you’re facing burnout, a stagnant relationship, or misaligned work, this episode helps you find clarity and confidence in taking the leap toward what’s next. If you’ve been feeling the nudge to make a big life shift but haven’t known when or how—this conversation gives you the framework and courage to finally do it. What You’ll Discover in This Episode: Knowing when to quit (02:00) Jim shares how the absence of clear criteria keeps people stuck in jobs and relationships long past their expiration date. The power of defining your criteria (06:20) Why setting emotional and time-based boundaries helps you make confident, guilt-free decisions about what to release. Family, guilt, and emotional freedom (09:15) How to handle toxic relationships—even with family—and protect your mental and emotional health. Fulfillment versus burnout (12:30) Jim’s personal story of leaving a high-paying corporate job and discovering how alignment matters more than money. Growth, alignment, and values (17:50) How to assess whether your current situation supports your evolution—or keeps you small. Your emotional litmus test (34:30) The simple gut-check question that instantly tells you if it’s time to walk away. Moving forward with courage (38:00) Jim explains how fear keeps people stuck and why courage is the bridge between endings and new beginnings. Listen, apply, and enjoy! Transformational Takeaway Life constantly invites you to evolve—but evolution requires letting go. When you cling to what’s no longer aligned, you block what’s waiting to unfold. Ask yourself: If this situation were gone, how would I feel? If the answer is “relieved,” that’s your truth. Trust it. Change takes courage, but freedom always rewards those who listen to their inner knowing and act on it. Ep 5: Why Your Bad Habits Are So Hard To Break

Ep 5: Why Your Bad Habits Are So Hard To Break

Start Your Transformation Now In today’s episode, you’ll learn why it has been so hard to break your bad habits. The reason why is that people try to use willpower to break bad habits and willpower is a conscious process and habits come from the reptilian brain. When you got up this morning you didn’t say “ok I’m going to get out of bed then go to the bathroom then shower”…. it happened automatically without conscious analytical thought. All of us go through life on autopilot and if you have what you do not want, you’ve created that on autopilot. If you want to create new things in life, you’ve got to create new habits. You’ll learn: Your entire life is a habit. You must focus on creating the habits that create the outcome that you want. Most people have a story that it’s hard to break a habit. Most people try and create change with the wrong part of the brain My habit program that will show you how to eliminate any habit without using willpower Transformational Takeaway: You are not your habits. You are not your urges. You are not your habit voice telling you to go into your habits. (That’s your reptilian brain talking) You are you and your brain runs your habits. You cannot change your habits by fighting them. You must communicate with reptilian brain and it becomes easy for you to break your habits. Ep 3: What Is The Story Of Your Life?

Ep 3: What Is The Story Of Your Life?

Start Your Transformation Now What is the story of your life? In this episode you learn that your stories control every single aspect of your life. Basically, your life is one big story. Everything in your life is a story and if you’re not getting what you want in life, what is your story about that? About money? Health? Relationships? If you want something in life and don’t yet have it, that means your current story doesn’t support the having of it. Listen to the full episode to learn how to create stories that support your dreams! In this episode I discuss: How I changed my story from hurting me to serving me How life reflects your stories What did your parents say to you when you were younger? Do you still carry this? Let’s examine your stories! Debilitating stories versus driving stories My brother-in-law the Shaman Transformational Takeaway: What experience of life do I want? What story will create that for me? Ep 2: Who Are You And What Is Your Identity?

Ep 2: Who Are You And What Is Your Identity?

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode we look at your identity and why you do what you do. You’ll learn that it doesn’t matter what you think you want and it doesn’t matter what you do because you only create in life what you are. Your identity is created from experiences in your life, then you create an interpretation from those experiences and then you tell yourself a story about it for the rest of your life. So, in order to change your identity, you must first ask “What would be the identity of someone who already has what I want?” Look for someone who already has what you want. Listen to the entire episode to learn about changing your identity! In this episode I discuss: How your identity is formed when you’re a small child How you have created an identity loop and it’s keeping you stuck How to determine what identity you have (hint look at your environment) Discovering your internal barometer What identity do you want? How do you get it? Transformational Takeaway: What identity would I need to have to create _____ in my life? Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode you'll discover why you’ve worked really hard, put in all the effort, the hours, the blood sweat and tears and you’re still not getting the results you want. If you’re like most people you are working backwards—working from the “have do be” model. If I had the money then I could hire someone and grow my business. This is a broken model! The model that you want to start working from is what I call “be do have” model. “Who or how do I have to be to do the things that I choose to do to have the success that I want?” In this episode I discuss: Are you working from an identity that sabotages you? How perfectionism didn’t stop me from getting this podcast out How most people are working backwards The “be do have” model (if you’re not using this, you’re sabotaging yourself!) Why people are setting goals in the wrong way The reason you haven’t created what you want to create in life Who are you really? Where were you before you landed on this planet? A powerful question to start asking yourself Transformational Takeaway: What am I committed to and how or who do I have to be to achieve _____?
