Episode Description: Vera Wagman tells the story of how she bravely tackled generational trauma between herself, her Mother and sister through an amazing, and very personal, documentary. “Petit Rat" tells the story of one Mothers unfulfilled dream to be a ballerina, and two daughters who tried desperately to carry it forward no matter the cost to themselves. We’re going to talk about the pressure to be Moms, our relationship to our own Mothers and how we can heal our generational traumas. Vera started her career as a dancer with company credits including David Storey/NY and Pennsylvania Dance Theatre where she worked with such innovative choreographers as Ohad Naharin, Kathryn Posin and Nina Weiner. She has produced arts events for Santa Monica's Cultural Affairs Division and choreographed MARCH, an original play produced by the LGBT Center and Playwright's Arena in Los Angeles. Her documentary, Petit Rat, is currently on the film festival circuit screening at Vail, Woods Hole, Cinequest, Kitzbühel and the Miami Jewish Film Festival where it won the Audience Award for Best Documentary.
