333. Murder by the Book: Jackie Galloway

333. Murder by the Book: Jackie Galloway

It was a warm Wednesday morning in Sarasota, Florida, on June 12, 1991, when 36-year-old Jackie Galloway was supposed to meet a friend for lunch. The friend arrived at her home expecting an easy midday catch-up. Instead, the front door was unlocked, Galloway’s purse was sitting on the couch, and an unsettling silence filled the house. Jackie was gone. By the next afternoon, ten miles from downtown Sarasota, a passerby discovered a body dumped in a vacant lot, wrapped tightly in a beige bedsheet. It was Jackie. Her body was already decomposing under the relentless Florida sun. A noose was still looped around her neck. Her wrists bore the angry marks of bindings, and every one of her artificial nails had been torn away, illustrating the fight that Jackie had put up to try to escape. 99. The Trouble with Alice: Alice Crimmins

The year is 1965 and Alice Crimmins is not like most of the women of the time as she is about to be a divorced woman with two small children, 4-year-old Alice Marie who went by Missy, and 5-year-old Eddie. She dressed well and had style, ladies wanted to be friends with her and men wanted to marry her. She was the envy of almost all of them-- that was-- until something happened that summer day and now, no one would ever want to trade places with Alice. It was July 14, 1965, when Alice went into the bedroom to wake Missy and Eddie only to see they were not still in their messy unmade beds. Instead, the window was wide open as the sheers were blowing in the wind. Her babies were missing but who could have or would have done such a horrible thing? 98. That Girl is Poison: Mary Clement

Known as the "Great Equalizer", Arsenic has been used for thousands of years to get rid of one's enemy. It's tasteless, odorless and easily slipped into one's food.Roman Emperor Nero was suspected of using arsenic to seize the throne from his stepbrother’s throne in the 1st Century,The aristocratic 16th-century family, the Borgia's, were well known for killing off their political opponents with this naturally found element. Many women have also used arsenic to escape their marriages when divorce was impossible. 97. The Disappearance of Jack Irwin

97. The Disappearance of Jack Irwin

It is October 3, 1999, when Lt. Cliff Mathews reports to a nearby residence to take a report about a missing man. A young woman answers the door and informs the officer that 71-year-old Jack Irwin has not checked in with anyone and it had been several weeks since she had heard from him. The woman explained that she had only known Jack for about 7 months. During that time, she would help Jack around the house like cooking and cleaning as well as run errands. She tells the officer that she last saw Jack when she dropped him off at the Metrolink station at 5 pm on Sept 13. She explained that Jack was going to take the Metrolink into LA where he was going to catch another train from Los Angeles to Seattle. The story only gets more strange from here.Join Jen and Cam on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast as we discuss ‘The Disappearance of Jack.’As always, our friend Edward October from @octoberpodVHS does our listener’s discretion at the top of the pod. 95. Killer in Steel City: Ryan Parker

It is a Saturday afternoon on January 5, 2002, when Michael Gerboc drove to the floral store he owned with his partner florist, Ed Kirby, to check up Ed and the store. When Michael arrived and called out for Ed, he didn’t get a response but soon he finds Ed. Ed Kirby, age 48, is on the ground surrounded by a pool of blood. The popular florist had been murdered. He had been shot execution-style in the back of the head so he never saw it coming. A 9-millimeter shell was located nearby. His wallet was missing and the cash register was empty. Michael was devastated. Sadly this would not be the only murder this ruthless coward would be responsible for but there was one final shock that would leave many in disbelief.
