"Cleveland Cavaliers" Fall to Toronto Raptors, But Evan Mobley Comes Alive

On this episode of Locked On Cavs, Danny Cunningham (The Inside Shot, Cleveland Magazine, 92.3 The Fan) analyzes the Cleveland Cavaliers' 112-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors while missing five rotation players including Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Jarrett Allen. Despite the Halloween defeat, Cunningham emphasizes positive takeaways from the shorthanded performance, particularly Evan Mobley's aggressive 29-point second-half showing and rookie Jaylon Tyson's continued development with 18 points. The podcast explores why early-season injuries, while challenging, provide valuable opportunities for role players to build confidence and trust within the organization. Cunningham provides an encouraging update on Darius Garland's imminent return from injury, with head coach Kenny Atkinson indicating no setbacks and the guard scrimmaging with the Cleveland Charge. The episode concludes with perspective on the team's 3-3 start, emphasizing that the Cavaliers remain championship contenders once they achieve full health and rhythm together.
