The Margaritelli family owns Terre Margaritelli winery, with Andrea Margaritelli currently heading the company as the third-generation leader. The winery was founded by Fernando Margaritelli in 1950, and his son Giuseppe expanded it in 2000. Terre Margaritelli is known for its certified organic wines, its unique use of French oak from its own forests in France, and the family's ability to control the entire winemaking process from vineyard to bottle. The winery produces high-quality, characterful wines from local Umbrian grapes, using oak sourced from the Bertrange forest in Burgundy for its barrels.
