How to Read the Bible Without a Theology Degree (& Actually Enjoy It) | Faith Womack (Bonus Episode)

How to Read the Bible Without a Theology Degree (& Actually Enjoy It) | Faith Womack (Bonus Episode)

For those who are new here, I occasionally release bonus episodes designed for a specific part of my audience. I have listeners from all kinds of faith backgrounds, and this episode is shared from a Christian perspective. If that’s not quite what you’re looking for today, feel free to explore the other episodes released this week—or join me back here next Tuesday for a conversation you won’t want to miss!

------------------

Today’s guest says the Bible was never meant to be boring - it’s that we’ve forgotten how to read it with curiosity and context. Author and content creator Faith Womack, founder of Bible Nerd Ministries and author of No More Boring Bible Study, is on a mission to help everyday Christians rediscover Scripture as a living story, not a rulebook. In this episode, we talk about breaking free from spiritual burnout, understanding literary genres in the Bible, and how to bring your faith back to life - without needing a theology degree. If you’ve ever felt disconnected from Scripture or unsure where to start, this conversation will remind you that God’s Word was written for you, not just scholars.

EP231: Mental Toughness in Parenting with Steve Magness

Join me today for a conversation with world-renowned expert on performance, well-being, and sustainable success, Steve Magness. I recently heard Steve on an episode of the Rich Roll podcast and thoroughly enjoyed the conversation regarding mental toughness. As a mom to three young children, I recognized the correlation to mental toughness needed in parenthood. Having coached Olympic athletes and other top-performers, I knew Steve would be a great guest to discuss resilience but specifically, how we can train our brains to transcend the discomfort we will surely encounter in our parenting journeys. EP230: Simple Ways to Encourage More Play in Your Family with Anna Yudina

EP230: Simple Ways to Encourage More Play in Your Family with Anna Yudina

As most of you know, a huge issue parents currently face is a sharp increase in screen time for children. In fact, a recent study by JAMA Pediatrics found that children’s recreational use of screens (not including time spent online for virtual classes) nearly doubled during the pandemic. Moreover, the study linked higher screen usage to poorer mental health and greater stress among teens. I, myself, acknowledge that screens themselves aren’t bad but strive to balance screen time with playtime. Joining me today to highlight the importance of screen free play and what parents can do to engage their children is Anna Yudina of the Genius of Play (whose mission is to provide families with the information and inspiration they need to make play an important part of their child’s day). Anna shares how play benefits parents, what play really means (how science defines play), importance of multi-generational play and more…-------------------------------Show Notes for EP230: Simple Ways to Encourage More PlayEnjoy this Podcast?Post a review and share it! If you enjoyed tuning into this podcast, then do not hesitate to write a review.
