A Hard Rock Holiday with Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Al Pitrelli

A Hard Rock Holiday with Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Al Pitrelli

Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitar mastermind Al Pitrelli breaks down three decades of symphonic shred and arena-sized storytelling – from the first time Paul O’Neill pushed up the faders on “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo” to the massive two-band touring machine TSO has become. Al shares the emotional origins of the music, the early days grinding it out with one fog machine and a single box truck, what it’s like stepping onstage in front of 60,000 screaming fans, and revisiting the songs he helped build with Paul and Jon Oliva every year. He also shares stories from his time with Megadeth like learning rhythm guitar at the school of Dave Mustaine, sitting with Marty Friedman practicing night after night to perfect the parts, surviving Dave’s legendary scrutiny, and recording The World Needs a Hero album. Plus, he dives into his years as Alice Cooper’s musical director, where he learned the stagecraft, theatrics, and precision that still guide his work today. Eli Roth returns and this time he’s brought fellow filmmaker, Mark Borchardt. Mark is the creator and director behind the horror short, “Coven,” and the subject of the 1999 film, “American Movie,” which documented the 3 years Mark spent writing, shooting, and editing “Coven.” Mark and Eli talk personal movies versus studio films, the creative process, the benefit of film school, what it was like to shoot on actual film and have to wait for it to be developed, and how they feel about the future of movies and the theater experience in the age of COVID. The threesome also talk about some of their favorite movies and directors (like Werner Herzog), and Mark speaks to the “Coven” sequel and when that may be available. Blood, Sweat & Beers '91 - Craziest Tour In Rock History

Blood, Sweat & Beers '91 - Craziest Tour In Rock History

The “Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour” launched in May of 1991, and was Warrant’s first headlining tour of that size. It was Firehouse’s first big tour, and Trixter had already been on the road for 7 months when they got the call to open the bill. None of the bands had ever really crossed paths before, but by the time the tour wrapped in October, not only had they all become fast friends, they also ended up with one of the highest-grossing tours of the year. And then grunge happened, and almost overnight, the three bands found themselves virtually out of work. Warrant’s Eric Turner, Firehouse’s Bill Leverty, and Trixter’s Steve Brown and PJ Farley reunite to tell tales from that storied rock tour (probably the last of its kind) including the pranks they played on each other, the after-show hangouts, jamming in local bars, Jani Lane’s video game obsession, and the night Judas Priest’s Rob Halford came to see them play in Phoenix, Arizona. Sam Adonis Trumps Lucha Libre

Sam Adonis Trumps Lucha Libre

Sam Adonis (little brother of WWE’s Corey Graves) is the guy that Lucha Libre fans loved to hate thanks to the heel gimmick that had him waving an American flag with a giant photo of Donald Trump’s face plastered to its center! Sam reveals what inspired the gimmick, why he loved being boo’ed by CMLL fans, and some of the real-life (and scary) situations the gimmick caused! Sam also spent 4 years living and wrestling in the U.K. after losing his deal with WWE. He talks about FCW including the advice he got from Steve Regal, why he was fired, what he learned from the experience, and how all of that eventually led him home to Pittsburgh and across the world to Japan. And if that’s not how you know Sam Adonis, maybe you know him from his appearance on the Talk’N Shop Mexico City TIJ episode with Jericho, Anderson, Gallows and special guest Enzo Amore (and Sam no longer has that girlfriend). The Lost Songs & Fast Times of Don Dokken

The Lost Songs & Fast Times of Don Dokken

Dokken is releasing a treasure trove of unheard tracks from the band’s early years! The new album comes out Friday and is called “The Lost Songs: 1978-1981,” and famed frontman Don Dokken explains where and how this came together! He shares why the band had to go to Germany to get a record deal and make a name for themselves, why Ratt bassist Juan Croucier was in the initial Dokken lineup, and how The Scorpions factored into the band’s early success. Dokken talks about his love-hate relationship with guitarist George Lynch and the fist-fights they used to get into on a daily basis, how Metallica blew them off the stage on the Monsters of Rock Tour in 1988, and what he had to do to get his name back after losing the right to perform as Dokken! Plus, Don details the botched neck surgery he had earlier this year that’s left his arm and hands paralyzed, and Don unable to play guitar (or do much of anything really), and the intense physical therapy he’s undergoing in hopes of regaining use of his hands.
