JYD - How We Train Episode 4

Joe is in Tempe getting ready to race Ironman Arizona, Tyler is on the ground as a very enthusiastic spectator, and for the first time ever they are recording together in person.

In this episode, the boys give a proper pre-race low down on the final edition of Ironman Arizona, from the weird swim cancellation rules and Tempe Town Lake water testing, to who is actually favourite on paper and how Joe plans to race it. They get into how he wants to start the swim, why he is eyeing “Terminator” Rasmus Svenningsson as his golden ticket to the front, how not to overbike if you want to run under 2.40, and what result would leave Joe happy, content, or seriously disappointed. There are plenty of stories along the way, including Joe rocking up drenched to the group run, recognising half the pro field on the start line in real life for the first time, getting ghosted by Trovo Foley on a “first date” swim, and Tyler explaining why some athletes never want to train with anyone during race week.
