Arthur Shawcross lived a troubled life. His childhood was terrible, and by the time he was six, he was running away from home. He claimed his mother molested him, and that he had an incestuous relationship with his sister, Jeannie, that lasted for years. In 1969, he went to Vietnam and when he returned, he was a changed man. None of this explains why he killed 13 people, including two children--but the way his life went (if you want to believe what he says) you can't be surprised he turned out to be a psychopath. TW: CHILD DEATHJanuary 29th, 2009 was an exciting day for children in Australia--it was the first day back to school after the long holiday break and it also was 4-year-old Darcey Freeman's very first day of school. Darcey's father was driving her, along with her two brothers to school, when he seemed to have snapped. The day prior, Darcey's parents' long divorce and custody battle finally came to an end, and her father, Arthur Freeman, was awarded much less parenting time than he wanted. Arthur felt like the courts were against him and he seethed with anger at his ex-wife, Peta Barnes the entire drive to school.
