Medication and Autism Spectrum Disorder

Medication and Autism Spectrum Disorder

We have had many of our listeners ask us to talk about our different medication journies with our kids. In this episode, we discuss our individual choices for our kids regarding prescription medication and some of the issues that lead us down the path of seeking additional help. You will hear all sides of the choices and some guilt that can take place after entering this path. We each have a different perspective for our kids and the balancing of the decision regarding medication. The main point we want everyone to know is that medication may or may not work for your kids. No matter what you choose, it is an individual choice, and we do not put any judgment on anyone for choosing medication or choosing not to walk down the medication path. It is a hard choice and, most of the time, a long path to find a medication that works. We are not medical professionals and do not claim to know the complicated layers it takes to understand how the medication affects the body.
