Ep 185: Later Never Comes. Later Is A Lie.
Start Your Transformation Now It’s a profound truth most of us miss for years, decades, and sometimes a lifetime. About a decade ago one of my friends wrote a book on alcoholism and he asked me to proof it for him before he self-published it. When I read the book one line hit me hard, and I wasn’t even an alcoholic but that line was, “An alcoholic waits to stop drinking tomorrow and that tomorrow never comes.” That last line hit me hard, really hard, and the reason why is that I realized that it applied to all of my life and all of our lives. We ‘excuse away' life and we say things like, “I’ll go to college someday and I’ll travel Europe, and I’ll change jobs and I’ll learn to cook and someday I’ll even learn to play a musical instrument.” And, what do we do? We wait for that someday. We don’t take action…we wait until later and then three, five, ten years later we say, “Oh yeah, I said I was going to wait until _____ to blank but I forgot. Oh well, that was a long while back and it’s too late now but I sure wish I would have done that.” And the “Later Hamster Wheel” goes on another week, month, year, and many times a lifetime. WHY? Later never comes because later comes from what you do now and if you wait until later to do now then later never comes. Hence, waiting for later is a lie to yourself and then the excuses make you feel better about yourself and you rationalize away your life. The irony is that most of us want more in life and we wait until later to get it and that later, as you know, never comes. So, the solution…Act now, but if it were that easy you would have done it already. It takes courage and it takes action. So, instead of waiting to act now ask yourself this, “What is causing me not to act now?” HINT: Most times when we want to do something much bigger in life it’s the F word that stops us! (Fear) Transformational Takeaway: Later Never Comes When You Wait For It – Act Now! Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 184: Living Outside All The Fear And Chaos In The World.
Start Your Transformation Now This episode was inspired by a current student of mine. Essentially, he wrote me a note and was sharing how he’s feeling hopeless about the state of the world, the future of humanity, and the planet. I can definitely understand his fears, however, from my perspective, I’m not hopeless at all. Actually, I’m quite optimistic about the future. There are a couple of places mentally that I “work from” in life and for this reason, the state of the world is not creating fear or reaction in me. With so much chaos in the world, millions if not more are in fear about what the future holds. I am not one of those people. In this episode, I share the paradigm that I have worked from for years. It applies both to the state of the world and as well the relationships in my life and even to passersby in life. I choose how I want to participate in the world, to some degree physically and to a huge degree, mentally. Perhaps when you ponder what I share in this episode then you too may find more peace and comfort in your life. Transformational Takeaway: In all areas of life ask yourself, “What pertains to me?” Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 183: Interview - Katie’s Transformation From Being “Terrified Everyday” Into Being A Revolutionary Thinker.
Start Your Transformation Now In this episode, I visit with one of my students, Dr. Katie Deming, MD, Oncologist. The predominant theme in this round of interviews has been transcending fear. Actually, I think that’s great and a perfect message for all listeners because it’s the number one thing that just about every human wrestles with yet most people never transcend. As you’ll hear, until recently Katie has lived most of her life being “terrified every day.” These are her exact words and her biggest triggers were fear of failure, fear of not being safe, fear of not doing things right, and fear of failure.” Again, in her own words, she said she had created a “habit of living in fear.” And, I’m sure when many people listen they can relate, and neurologically, we can turn daily fear into a lifetime habit. The theme is this interview is the tremendous amount of fear that controlled her life and we talk about how she came to a resolution of this life habit of fear. We also talk about, her words, how the “medical industry keeps people trapped in victim mentality.” In my opinion, this is a courageous statement. It takes great courage to go against an entire industry to take a stand for human growth and evolution. That, my friends, is revolutionary and how great change happens in the world. I’m awed that she went from a place of living her life in extreme fear to bucking an entire system. This interview is insightful, heartfelt, and inspiring and it’s my sincere desire that you find great value in this interview. Ep 182: Interview - From Feeling Not Good Enough To Center Stage!
Start Your Transformation Now This week’s interview is colorful for sure. My guest is comedian Annie Lederman. Being upfront, she does not particularly censor herself so there may be an F-Bomb or two or three. And, that’s fine with me as I want people to be exactly who they are and want to be. As in all interviews we talked about a lot of things and in particular, we talked about four main topics. How Annie was said she was “Afraid to put myself out” in terms of self-promotion. How despite being a comedian/entertainer she was nervous and afraid of what people would think of her. She talks about how she’d obsess about what audience members might be thinking about her and her show. How she felt “not good enough.” And finally, how she used to be so driven by “external validation and what others thought about her and her show. As you’ll hear she experienced an assortment of self-sabotaging feelings and today she enjoys being on large shows, promoting herself, and sharing her art with the world. And, then of course all the accompanying feelings and behaviors with being extremely passionate about her work, sharing it with everyone, and how she now approaches her work…which was transformational for her. There’s something here for everyone as she covers many facets of thinking that all of us wrestle with at some time or another in life. Ep 181: Interview - From Crippling Fears And Perfectionism To An Amazing Life.
Start Your Transformation Now In my opinion, this is an amazing episode. I think many listens will be able to relate and identify with Manuel. He’s one of my students from Austria and he talks about his extreme fears and how today his life is so “amazing he could cry.” We talk about a lot in this episode but the focus was extreme lack of self-worth, inability to even talk with people, disabling procrastination, and crippling perfectionism. In the last sentence I use many words that could be construed as hyperbole, but as you’ll hear, they are not, these were all the circumstances of his life….in his own words. We go further to talk about where he “works from today,” how he has come to understand his self-talk and stories and how his life has made a 180-degree transformation from doom and gloom to as I said above, a life that is “so amazing he could cry.” Enjoy Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 180: Interview - How To Drop Perfectionism And Control
Start Your Transformation Now It’s that time again. I’m doing a few interviews with current students and they’re sharing dramatic shifts they have made in their lives and they give you tips so you can start doing the same in your life. This week I’m visiting with Trupti Karjinni. This hour is jam-packed with her sharing on how she overcame “extreme perfectionism and control issues” and a whole lot more. Trupi lives in India and she talks about the Indian caste system and how she wanted to live her life on her own terms and you stopped living by “the system’s” rules. As you’ll hear, before she met me she had it all in life: Money, love, health, and a great business but she was “empty and hollow inside.” Her exact words were “I was a pile of ash inside.” And, she’ll share with you how she found great joy and happiness in her life today. She’ll share with you the extraordinary power of self-love and how that transformed her life, and she’ll share with you how she abandoned her old belief that she had to work hard to get ahead in life. There are many many takeaways in this episode and she’ll share her discovery that the way to create more money in life is to stop being afraid to put money out. As you will hear, this can be as life-changing for you as it was for her. This episode is pure gold for those who listen, absorb and apply what she shares with you. Enjoy Transformational Takeaway: Just let go of the belief that we need to make things hard on ourselves. And we need to work hard to deserve success because that is attaching our self-worth to external stuff. Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 179: Fear and Comfort Zones: A Live Coaching Session
Start Your Transformation Now This episode is actually a coaching session that I recently did with a group that I have in group coaching. And after I got off the coaching call, I thought I really want to share that on the podcast. So you'll hear some behind-the-scenes live group coaching. And being candid, I'm very, very direct in this episode with people that I'm coaching. We cover a lot of different topics and after I was done, I thought I should probably share that because the questions that came up were relatable and similar to what I think you the listener would have as well. I often tell my students “what's personal is most general” meaning most of us have the same questions and face similar things in life. I think you'll find there is something for everyone in this episode. The questions covered include focusing to make things happen, the fear of the unknown with a partner facing retirement, how to take your business from surviving to thriving, shifting out of poverty mindset, and how you will not grow if you do not leave your comfort zone. Transformational Takeaway: You will not get out of your fear until you get out of your fear. Until then, it will be a glass prison that will keep you trapped. Ep 178: Self-Integrity
Start Your Transformation Now In this episode, I'm talking about self-integrity and why it's important to show up even when you don't feel like it. Recently I had scheduled an Instagram Live coaching session and had planned to do some live coaching. I was going to call the live a no BS coaching session. When the time came, I was sick. Like sleep for 24 hours sick. But I showed up on time as I had promised and that ended up with me talking about self-integrity. It was a big hit. And my team thought that we should share that episode here on the podcast. And it kind of fits a little bit with last week's episode, when I talked about living from convenience. When you are continually out of integrity you teach people that you cannot be trusted. More importantly, when you are out of self-integrity you teach yourself that you cannot trust yourself. I'm also sharing a story about my brother-in-law, the Shaman, and a time when he was faced with self-integrity when he was young. When we do not honor the words we speak to ourselves and others, we are out of self-integrity. Transformational Takeaway: Always honor your word to self and others.
