Police believe that she made it to the end of her long driveway before she was taken from her Indiana home. Three weeks later, Linda's body was found just fifteen minutes from her home atop an old trestle bridge. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the case of the abduction and murder of little Linda Weldy. The police were not called until after 11:00 PM the night Linda went missing because her mother worked second shift and her mother's boyfriend believed Linda was staying at a friend's house. The police began their investigation by looking at the family and then outward. But, they have never been able to come up with a motive for Linda's murder. A detective now working the cold case believes he knows who the murderer is but as of now does not have enough evidence to announce it or move forward. The ensuing investigation would come to be regarded as one of the most controversial in Ireland's history. The police investigation quickly led to a woman who had recently been pregnant. Because this woman was not married she tried to give birth on her own and the baby died. But, the police didn't believe her and they felt that she was responsible for the death of Baby John. But, on January 26th of that year, Ellen was found dead inside the apartment she shared with Sam. She had been stabbed 20 times, and after some back and forth, the authorities ruled it a suicide. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious death of Ellen Greenberg. Her family was upset by the ruling of suicide by both the police and the medical examiner. How could have Ellen, who her family said was squeamish about getting her ears pierced, stabbed herself 20 times, and left a knife lodged in her chest? The authorities had to figure out who the man was because he had no identification on him. They also had to figure out what happened to him. The initial thought by the medical examiner was that he was poisoned but they found no traces of poison in his system. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss one of the most interesting mysteries over the past 70 years. You will often see this case also referred to as the Tamam Shud case. This resulted from a piece of paper found on the man with these words on it which had been ripped from a copy of the book Rubaiyat. There have been many theories over the years including one that the man was a spy and was eliminated in such a fashion that it has left the police stumped.
