Welcome to episode 313 of the Sexology Podcast! Today I am delighted to welcome Dr. Kathryn LaRoche to the podcast. In this episode, we discuss the misconceptions around contraception, taking care of yourself if you think you’re pregnant and ways in which men can support their partners.

Dr. Kathryn J. LaRoche, PhD, MSc is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Purdue University. She is a public health social scientist and applied anthropologist who carries out community-engaged, action- and intervention-oriented research about sexual and reproductive health with a focus on abortion and pregnancy.

She has published her work extensively in journals like Contraception and Women’s Health Issues, and she has led and contributed to projects in Canada, Australia, and the United States.

In 2022, she received the Carole Joffe and Stanley Henshaw Early Achievement in Social Science Research Award from the National Abortion Federation for her contribution to generating abortion-related knowledge.
