From ER Visits to Full Recovery: Clayton’s Story

Clayton spent years struggling with panic attacks, insomnia, chest pain… No matter how many ER visits he racked up, nothing brought lasting relief. His anxiety didn’t just disrupt his life; it defined it.

It started in early 2022 after a work-related stress episode. The chest tightness was so alarming that he thought he was having a heart attack. Dozens of tests later, every result came back clear, but the fear didn’t go away.

He threw himself into every recovery tactic he could find – strict sleep hygiene, meditation, quitting caffeine – but the harder he tried to get better, the worse things seemed to get.

Eventually, in the middle of yet another sleepless, anxious night, Clayton signed up for the Bye Bye Panic mentorship program — from an ER room. That decision, and what followed, changed everything. Instead of stacking more strategies, he started learning how to stop the fight altogether. Letting go became the real turning point.

Today, Clayton sees anxiety and insomnia differently. He doesn’t fear them anymore.

In this episode, Mirka, one of the BBP program mentors, talks with him about what it took to recover, what kept him stuck for so long, and what finally set him free.

Tune in to learn more.
