Join us for grand rounds this week where Dr. Jonathan Bailey, an anesthesiologist and associate professor at Dalhousie University, discusses regional anesthesia of the trunk.


Dr. Bailey is an anesthesiologist and associate professor at Dalhousie University. He completed undergraduate training and medical school at the University of Saskatchewan before completing his anesthesia residency, masters in epidemiology and regional anesthesia fellowship at Dalhousie University. His clinical and research interests include acute pain, regional anesthesia, and healthcare in austere settings. Dr. Bailey is the Medical Director for Global Health and Community Engagement in the Department of Anesthesia and the Rwanda Lead for the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society International Education Foundation (CASIEF). He is a Vital Anaesthesia Simulation Training (VAST) instructor and co-author of VAST Wellbeing. His microgravity research has been featured on CBC News, CBC Information Morning, and the "Block it like it’s hot" podcast. He was the recipient of the Su Ganapathy Regional Anesthesia Research Award in 2025. He has received the Resident Advocate of the Year Award in 2020, the Clinical Teacher of the Year Award in 2021, and the Daily Evaluation Certificate of Appreciation in 2022.
