We talk through dosing to effectiveness vs dosing to tolerance, loading doses vs maintenance doses, and how factors like tradition (TCM, Ayurveda, Western), preparation (whole herb, capsules, tea, tinctures), plant potency, digestion/assimilation, constitution, and body weight change the “right” dose. We share a striking case using 30g/day whole ashwagandha for severe anxiety/agoraphobia, discuss why herb books publish wildly different (often lawyer-edited) doses, and dig into tincture math and the problem of missing ratios.
