In her latest book, The Cultural Imperative, Maria draws on over 50 years of evidence to show what truly drives performance, wellbeing, and financial success. She introduces the three layers of culture, challenges the idea that culture is intangible or ‘fluffy’, and brings the discussion back to what really matters: emotional engagement and commitment as the foundation of secure, high-performing organisations. At the heart of this is Human Capital Intelligence (HCI)—and, as the HSE’s own findings suggest, it is the absence of HCI that remains the critical gap in enabling organisations to deliver.
