Why do you need a physiotherapist on your eating disorder recovery team?

Why do you need a physiotherapist on your eating disorder recovery team?

Physios might not be the first profession that comes to mind when you are thinking about eating disorder care but in this latest episode of Strong Enough Senior Physiotherapist Sally Partington explains the unique set of skills that can aid recovery.

Sally will be talking about how to identify problem exercise levels, the links between eating disorders and pelvic floor problems as well as issues with bone density after disordered eating. Sally also explains how changing exercise routines can change the feelings or emotions that movement can trigger.

Sally is the founder of Movement Physio Perth and also works at the Perth Children’s Hospital.

It is important to acknowledge there are lots of different pathways to recovery and we urge you to seek your own professional advice. If you would like to hear more from lived experience carers then buy the new Strong Enough book.
