Charlottesville Freebridge Encampment: Rape Reported, Clearance Set for September 1

Uriah Kiser breaks down the disturbing reality at Charlottesville's Freebridge Lane encampment along the Rivanna River Trail. A public park transformed into a drug-fueled zone with tents, shopping carts, feces, needles, and reports of rapes and bodies recovered. On July 9, a sexual assault was reported at the encampment, prompting a Charlottesville Police investigation. Just days later, Mayor Wendell Wade announced plans to clear the site by September 1, moving residents to housing and support services while banning future camping. The city has provided toilets, dumpsters, and needle disposal amid ongoing public safety concerns.

This story highlights years of failed policies under Democrat leadership in Thomas Jefferson's hometown. Taxpayers fund amenities for the encampment while regular Virginians can't safely use the trail.
