Billy Bob Thornton, Dave Pirner & Mikkey Dee

Billy Bob Thornton returns to share fascinating tales from his six-year residency at LA's iconic Sunset Marquis Hotel, featured in the new documentary 'If These Walls Could Rock.' He recounts wild encounters with neighbors like Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, and Richard Harris, plus some pretty outrageous moments on the property. Billy Bob also discusses The Boxmasters' 21st album and their incredible experience opening for The Who, where they earned standing ovations. After that, Soul Asylum frontman Dave Pirner sits down for a wide-ranging conversation about the band's upcoming double album MPLS Unplugged. Dave opens up about being a self-described technophobe who just recently got an iPhone, the story behind Prince covering 'Stand Up and Be Strong,' and how the new acoustic record differs from their MTV Unplugged performance 30 years ago. They dive into Dave's songwriting process, which songs work acoustically versus electrically, and the incredible impact of 'Runaway Train' on both missing children and mental health awareness. Rounding out the podcast, Mikkey Dee joins for an in-depth conversation covering his terrifying health scare with sepsis that led to three surgeries and five weeks in the hospital. The Scorpions and former Motorhead drummer explains how the aggressive infection nearly took his right leg and his life. He discusses the formation of Lex Legion, reuniting four-fifths of a classic King Diamond lineup to create old-school metal with a modern twist. Mikkey also talks about Scorpions' continued vitality (despite the band members approaching 80), their upcoming Vegas residency, and why he's now the last man standing to carry Motorhead's torch forward.
