Body Wisdom Challenge

This week, practice noticing what happens in your body when you’re about to say yes to something you don’t really want to do.

Before automatically answering, pause.

Give yourself permission to say:

“Let me think about it, and I’ll get back to you.”

Then ask yourself:

❤️ What happens in my body when I think about saying yes?

❤️ Do I feel open and comfortable—or tense, heavy, anxious, or uneasy?

❤️ Am I saying yes because I genuinely want to, or because I’m afraid of disappointing someone?

Remember, saying no doesn’t automatically make you selfish or unkind. Sometimes listening to your body means honoring the boundary it has been asking you to set.

In This Episode, We Discuss:
  • Saige’s experience in a narcissistic and emotionally manipulative relationship
  • The story behind A Lights Out Narcissistic Podcast
  • How manipulation can make you feel mentally trapped even when you are physically free to leave
  • Why people-pleasing can make it difficult to recognize and respond to unhealthy behavior
  • What Saige calls “Good Girl Syndrome”
  • The connection between self-worth, boundaries, and saying no
  • How chronic stress can show up physically
  • Why Saige believes her body was trying to warn her that something wasn’t right
  • Lindsie’s experience leaving an abusive relationship
  • Why unhealthy relationships can make it difficult to trust yourself
  • Recognizing the difference between someone respecting your “no” and becoming angry because you set a boundary
Key Takeaways
  • Your body may communicate distress through tension, exhaustion, changes in sleep or other physical symptoms during periods of intense stress.
  • People-pleasing can become self-abandonment when you consistently prioritize someone else’s feelings over your own safety and well-being.
  • A healthy boundary doesn’t require everyone else to like or agree with it.
  • Someone’s reaction to your “no” can give you valuable information about the relationship.
  • You don’t have to answer every request immediately. Creating space before responding can help you determine what actually feels right for you.

📘 Healthy for a Reason: 12 Practical Guidelines to Feel Like Yourself Again

If you're tired of starting over, trying harder, and wondering why nothing seems to work, Healthy for a Reason was written for you.

For years, we've been told the answer is more willpower, more restriction, and more rules. But if you've struggled with cravings, fatigue, emotional eating, poor sleep, or stubborn weight despite doing everything "right," you know it's not that simple.

What if those struggles weren't signs that you've failed?

What if they were your body's way of asking for something different?

In Healthy for a Reason, Lindsie combines nearly two decades of nursing experience with practical health coaching strategies to help you understand what your body has been trying to tell you all along. You'll learn how to calm your nervous system, recognize your body's signals, build sustainable habits, and create lasting health by working with your body instead of constantly fighting against it.

This isn't another diet book or a collection of quick fixes. It's a practical, compassionate guide to helping you reconnect with your body, rebuild trust in yourself, and finally understand why you're healthy for a reason.
