Lamentations 3–5 & Ezekiel 1–5 | Great Is Thy Faithfulness

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we conclude the book of Lamentations with chapters 3 through 5 and begin the book of Ezekiel with chapters 1 through 5, read from the King James Version.

From the depths of Jerusalem’s sorrow comes one of Scripture’s most beloved declarations of hope: “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed… they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations closes with prayer, remembrance, and a longing for the Lord to restore His people.

Then, beside the river Chebar in Babylon, the heavens open before the prophet Ezekiel. He beholds an extraordinary vision of living creatures, wheels, fire, and the likeness of the glory of the Lord. Ezekiel is called to speak God’s word to a rebellious people, whether they listen or refuse.
