#WeRunWithoutFear: 24 hours of running for women’s right to move safely

With the deaths of nine women now under investigation in Ekurhuleni, the issue of women’s safety has again come sharply into focus. Against this backdrop, Naiema Abrahams from the Bo Kaap Running Club is organising a 24-hour awareness run around Rondebosch Common, calling for women to be able to run, walk and move freely without fear. The #WeRunWithoutFear event starts at 19:00 on Friday, 25 September and runs through to 19:00 on Saturday, 26 September. Whether you run or walk one loop or stay for hours, everyone is invited to take a stand against gender-based violence. Naiema speaks to Lester Kiewit.
