Sam Johnson | Pedaling the Globe + 18 Things He’s Learned in the Past Two Years

In Episode 034 of Bike Tour Adventures, I have a chance to catch up with Sam Johnson, an English adventurer that has gone from travelling around in a camper van to pedalling the globe. Trevor Browne | Messkit Magazine

Trevor Browne | Messkit Magazine

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast I talk with Trevor Browne. Growing up in Western Canada, Trevor was intrigued with the concept of bike touring from a very young age. Trevor spent a lot of time mountain biking the in Rockies, and even took jobs that would allow him to spend more time on his bike. In 2008 he went on an epic journey and cycled 7600 km across Canada. The very next year, he took on the Tour Divide and was one of the first Canadians to complete it. In 2015 Trevor rode the Paris-Brest-Paris bike race, one of the world's most highly regarded ultra-distance bike races. In the years after, Trevor started Messkit Magazine, a magazine aimed at combining all his passions into one product: photography, food and biking. This hasn't stopped Trevor from finding time to keep on pedalling. More recently he rode the Alberta Rockies 700 and the BT700 in Ontario. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Join the RideWithGPS Bikepack Adventures ClubFind them at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/messkitmagazine/ WEBSITE: https://www.messkitmag.com/ Find me at…WEBSITEYOUTUBEFACEBOOKINSTAGRAMITUNESShow SponsorsPanorama Cycles --> They believe that cycling is a catalyst for adventures, no matter how small they can be. Matt Kadey | Bike Touring, Bikepacking & Route Development

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast, Matthew Kadey and I finally have the chance to record this long awaited interview. I first learned about Matt when I heard about the Butter Tart 700, more commonly known as the BT 700, the first long-distance bikepacking route in Ontario that featured a Grand Depart. In the time since creating the BT 700, Matt has gone on to develop 5 long distance bikepacking routes in Ontario, as well as several routes in Costa Rica and Colombia. An experienced bike tourer, bikepacker, route designer and a nutritionist, Matt has tons of experience to share with listeners. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Join the RideWithGPS Bikepack Adventures ClubFind them at:Instagram: BT 700Facebook: BT700 BikepackingWebsite: BT 700 BIKEPACKING - HomeFind me at…WEBSITEYOUTUBEFACEBOOKINSTAGRAMITUNESShow SponsorsPanorama Cycles --> They believe that cycling is a catalyst for adventures, no matter how small they can be. Jon Hicken of Restrap & Bikepack Adventures Grand Depart announcement

Jon Hicken of Restrap & Bikepack Adventures Grand Depart announcement

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast, I'm speaking with Jon Hicken, the marketing manager of Restrap. For the past while, I had been thinking it would be great to reach out to companies whose products I have used and found to be of exceptional quality and practicality and to have them on the show. Having used their race aero bags throughout the past year, I personally believe they are second to none. After reaching out to Jon, the marketing manager, I learned that he is quite a well travelled bike tourer and bikepacker, having bikepacked and toured in Scotland, Japan, Croatia and more. I am pleased to have the opportunity to speak with him and learn more about the cycle luggage industry and his own adventures. Meaghan Hackinen | Writer, Cyclist and Adventure Seeker

Meaghan Hackinen | Writer, Cyclist and Adventure Seeker

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast I have the chance to speak with one of the most bad-ass women I know of. I first heard about Meaghan when I was researching the Northcape - Tarifa bike race and saw that only 1 Canadian had previously raced the event. On top of that, she has bike toured Canada, the USA and Mexico, raced the Trans Am Bike Race, NorthCape 4000, Paris-Brest-Paris, and was the 2019 World 24hr Time Trial Champion and course record holder in the women's division. More recently she finished 3rd in the Alberta Rockies 700, and crushed the BC Epic 1000 as the overall winner, while setting a new women's FKT. On top of that, she has ridden lots of other grand brevets, races, and mini tours. Furthermore, she holds an MFA in writing, has been published in numerous cycling journals and magazines, and has recently written a travel memoire, titled "South Away: The Pacific Coast on Two Wheels". All these accomplishments aside, Meaghan is extremely humble and modest and I am super thrilled to finally have the chance to listen to her story.BTA's Newest Supporters:Joshua Greenlaw To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Join the RideWithGPS Bikepack Adventures ClubFind them at:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/meaghanhackinen/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/meaghanhackinen Website: https://meaghanhackinen.com/ Find me at…WEBSITEYOUTUBEFACEBOOKINSTAGRAMITUNESShow SponsorsPanorama Cycles --> They believe that cycling is a catalyst for adventures, no matter how small they can be. Isaac, Alex and Lucas | Pedal4Parks

In this Bike Tour Adventures interview I have the chance to speak with a group of adventurers that have recently completed a truly unique cycling adventure, while also working towards increasing public awareness of climate solutions, the importance of preserving the U.K's natural environment and finally encouraging others to explore the outdoors. In today's episode I am speaking with Isaac Kenyon, Alex Pierrot and Lucas Haitzmann, 3 of the 5 members of the team that this past summer cycled from the Orkney Islands in the north of the United Kingdom to the Isley of Scilly in the south, using bikes the entire way. Theo Kelsey-Verdecchia | Bikepack Racing

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast, I speak with Theo Kelsey-Verdecchia. Coming from Toronto, Canada, Theo has been crushing gravel routes these past couple years, setting an Fastest Known Time record on the BTXL in 2020. The BTXL, located in Southern Ontario, is a combination of the BT700 (768km) and the Grand Nith Ramble (350km) coming in at just over 1100km of riding, with 10400 metres of elevation. In 2021, Theo did it again and beat his own time, setting a new FKT of 84h 17m and also finished 1st on the Alberta Rockies 700, a gruelling race in the west of Canada. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/theokelsey_/ Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors.
