Matthew Farwell’s DNA Comparison Was Missing From WHAT?!

In the Sandra Birchmore case, the question is what investigators did with the evidence they collected and what they never compared. A state lab identified male DNA on a strap recovered from her apartment in 2021. A federal court filing says investigators did not get Matthew Farwell’s reference DNA then. Testimony also described two unrecorded Farwell interviews, including one in a school parking lot. In federal court, FBI Special Agent Heidi Kelsch read messages between Farwell and Sandra that prosecutors say document their contact beginning when she was a teenager. Prosecutors accuse Farwell of killing Sandra to prevent exposure of the relationship and making her death look self-inflicted. Farwell has pleaded not guilty; the defense argues she took her own life. Tony Brueski follows the gap between the first inquiry and the evidence before the federal jury.

The federal prosecution theory focuses on Farwell’s alleged motive to keep Sandra from disclosing their history.
