Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 – The Weakest One So Far?

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 is here, and after three episodes of Toei Animation's updated take on Battle of Gods, we might have our first disappointment.

This week on Dragon Ball Super Dope, Kyle breaks down Episode 3, "The God of Destruction Heads to Earth," and explains why this might be the weakest installment of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus so far.

Between questionable animation decisions, rushed storytelling, and some bizarre editing choices, this episode raises an important question: Is the new version of Dragon Ball Super actually improving the original anime?

Beerus finally makes his way to Earth, where Bulma's birthday celebration is underway. For Vegeta, however, the God of Destruction's arrival is anything but a party. His terrifying memories of Beerus humiliating King Vegeta come rushing back, setting the stage for one of the most memorable confrontations in Battle of Gods.

Kyle discusses how the new anime handles Vegeta's childhood flashback, why Kid Vegeta's character design wasn't updated to match Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and how the animation team continues to make some strange choices when revisiting the original series.

And yes, they even brought back that infamous Vegeta stumbling animation!

Despite these criticisms, there's still plenty to enjoy, particularly the contrast between Beerus being presented as a terrifying, almost horror-movie villain and his surprisingly casual interactions with the Z Fighters.

Topics discussed in this episode:

• Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 3 review and analysis

• Why Episode 3 might be the weakest episode yet

• Vegeta's history with Beerus and King Vegeta

• Beerus arriving on Earth for Bulma's birthday

• The updated animation compared to the original Dragon Ball Super

• Vegeta's character design and its differences from Dragon Ball Super: Broly

• The infamous Vegeta stumbling animation returns

• The rushed editing and pacing of the Battle of Gods remake

• The comedy and horror elements of Beerus's personality

• Celebrating the legendary Masako Nozawa's 90th birthday

Is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus delivering the definitive version of Battle of Gods, or is the remake already showing its weaknesses?
