The Shaver Mystery: Ancient Robots, Evil Aliens, and the Caves They Live In | 157

We’ve all been there – you’re on the job and something goes wonky with your welding gun. Next thing you know you’re telepathic and can not only read the thoughts of your co-workers, but also an evil race of robots living underground. You know, that old yarn. Well, it also happened to Richard Shaver and afterwards he sent his account of living with them to a magazine. When the magazine’s publisher received it, he did the logical thing: re-wrote it to be 3 times longer and published it. And if this sounds wild, that’s just the tip of the stalactite.
