Earlier this month, Olympia owner Jake Wood announced that only the top three contestants in this year's event would earn an automatic qualification for the 60th Mr. Olympia in 2024. Notable contenders for this weekend's competition include the defending champion Hadi Choopan, the 2022 runner-up Derek Lunsford, the 2019 Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, and the 2023 Arnold Classic winner Samson Dauda.

Additionally, this situation means that if Walker recovers and is given clearance to compete, he will need to participate in at least one other competition in the 2024 season to earn a qualification for next year's Olympia.
