Michael Norman On Overcoming Olympic Disappointment To Become 400m World Champion

Michael Norman On Overcoming Olympic Disappointment To Become 400m World Champion

Michael Norman is the world champion at 400 meters and he just made headlines last week as he told NBC that in 2023, he will be focusing on the 100 meters. As the defending gold medalist, he’s got his spot secured for the World Championships in Budapest so I am here for his experiment. He’s run 9.86 for 100 meters, 19.70 for 200 meters and his 43.45 personal best for 400m makes him the fourth-fastest man in history. He is just 25 years old so there is tons of potential to be excited about. In this episode, I appreciated his honesty in talking about the disappointment of finishing 5th at the Tokyo Olympics, how he overcame that to win gold last year and what it’s going to take to get even faster and stay on top. Mike is a big Formula1 fan so we also had some fun talking about that, why I need him to start a podcast with Rai Benjamin and much more.
