127 - How AAVAA's Innovative Technology Platform Could Revolutionize Hearing and Wearable Tech

This week, host Dave Kemp sits down with AAVAA's Chief Technical Officer, Naeem Komeilipoor. The Montreal-based startup recently completed a $2.0 million Seed Round which will fund the continued development and commercialization of its unique, patented technology that "aims to revolutionize human-machine interactivity and human-assistance devices". The company's technology platform utilizes unobtrusive sensors that can be incorporated into existing form factors such as headphones, eyeglasses and hearing aids, along with software that integrates easily with current device components. The sensors can detect a wearer's attention by combining brain signals, eye movement, and head direction in real time. AAVAA has also developed sound source separation technology that can be added to the configuration and allow users to directionally focus hearing devices such as earbuds and hearing aids or even cochlear implants. The company has filed patents and grants with US and international agencies.
