First Look at our New Harley Quinn

The director of “Joker: Folie à Deux,” Todd Phillips, has released the first image of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix, who is reprising his role as the Joker. Lady Gaga’s involvement in the sequel was announced in August 2022, and she recently hinted that she started filming in January. The first look at Phoenix’s return as the Joker was revealed in December 2022. The sequel is expected to be released on Oct. 4, 2024, and like the original “Joker” film, it will be set in a self-contained universe.

Harley Quinn was first introduced as the Joker’s girlfriend and henchwoman in the Batman animated series, but has since become a popular character in her own right. Harley Quinn is known for her distinctive red and black harlequin costume, and her playful, mischievous personality. She is often depicted as a skilled gymnast and fighter, and is a master of using her mallet as a weapon. Over the years, the character has evolved and developed a more complex backstory, including her origins as a psychiatrist who falls in love with the Joker while treating him at Arkham Asylum.
