Authors of "The Proudest Color" on Adding Diverse Kids Books

Representation matters...in the media, in workplaces, and on our bookshelves. Dr. Sheila Modir and Jeff Kashou are making that a little easier with the release of their first children's book "The Proudest Color." Dr. Sheila and Jeff share how their personal experiences, clinical professional backgrounds, and the murder of George Floyd inspired them to put pen to paper. The book introduces concepts of race, racism, and racial pride to kids, even including resources for parents to start/continue the conversations. The couple explains why books and conversations like this are crucial for kids in development.
