The New Jersey Devils played against the Carolina Hurricanes for the first time since game five of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, similar to game five, the Devils dropped this matchup in Raleigh. Justin Dowling scored his first goal as a Devil and helped lead the charge in the third period. But, there were too many defensive lapses yet again.
