Ep 192: From A Life Of Quiet Desperation And Resignation To An Extraordinary Life

Ep 192: From A Life Of Quiet Desperation And Resignation To An Extraordinary Life

Start Your Transformation Now Henry David Thoreau said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” And, when he said men, of course, these days we can interpret that as most people, both men and women. Almost all of us have heard that phrase and it rings true for many many people but truly who owns it and what does it mean? In modern terms, a life of quiet desperation means being at the mercy of our circumstances and living paycheck to paycheck, and struggling with money, health, and relationships, or a combination of any of these circumstances. In my experience and observation, the best, easiest, and most rewarding way to start living an extraordinary life is to live a life in the service of others. So many people want and search for a better life when it’s in front of them all the time if/when they move the focus off themselves and move it onto others. Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is in the service to others.” And, that is the key, and let’s explore that. And, when you “find yourself” every single door in your life that is closed will magically open…I promise! I want to take you on a short journey with one of the greatest mentors and friends in my life, a woman name Virginia Cook. As my podcast has a global following but for those in Dallas, TX real estate and maybe even some in national real estate, they have heard of Virginia Cook. Virginia built the second-largest private real estate company in North Texas in just under a decade and one day I asked her how she did it and she shared her magical formula with me and I want to share it with you in this episode. The gist is, when we serve others we then inadvertently serve ourselves and the more we serve others the more we create and share in life and when we do this life becomes extraordinary. When we switch from self-service to self (survival and getting by) and we change to building others in the world, our life becomes magical and extraordinary. This entire episode is sharing stories and experiences I have learned from Virginia Cook. Transformational Takeaway: When we first serve others we serve ourselves. Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode you'll discover why you’ve worked really hard, put in all the effort, the hours, the blood sweat and tears and you’re still not getting the results you want. If you’re like most people you are working backwards—working from the “have do be” model. If I had the money then I could hire someone and grow my business. This is a broken model! The model that you want to start working from is what I call “be do have” model. “Who or how do I have to be to do the things that I choose to do to have the success that I want?” In this episode I discuss: Are you working from an identity that sabotages you? How perfectionism didn’t stop me from getting this podcast out How most people are working backwards The “be do have” model (if you’re not using this, you’re sabotaging yourself!) Why people are setting goals in the wrong way The reason you haven’t created what you want to create in life Who are you really? Where were you before you landed on this planet? A powerful question to start asking yourself Transformational Takeaway: What am I committed to and how or who do I have to be to achieve _____?
