Ep 219: Making Cappuccino - And How Come It Is So Hard To Change?

Ep 219: Making Cappuccino - And How Come It Is So Hard To Change?

Start Your Transformation Now If you have tried to run from your life, then this episode is for you. And truth be told, most people in life are “runners” in that they try to run from jobs, circumstances, relationships and people. In 1990 I was waiting tables, and I hated my job. I mention cappuccino in the headline and this episode because in this job, I had to make a lot of cappuccino. And one day, when making cappuccino, I said, “I hate this. I’m going to change my life. I’m going to move across the country.” Being a mere 25 years old, what I didn’t realize is that no matter where I moved, I would take myself with me. My point is I was running, and as you’re reading this, you may think, “No Jim, that does not apply to me because…..” Truth be told it most likely does apply to you because… If you’re wanting to leave a job because you hate it, you’re running from it. You are the one who created it and if you leave it you’ll just take yourself with you. If you’re wanting to leave a relationship because it does not work for you anymore is it because you two are no longer compatible which could be real or is it because you’re tired of all the relationship challenges, which you had a hand in creating? If you’re wanting to create more money in your life are you running from the changes you have to make in yourself to make it happen? If so, this is why you keep repeating your old patterns over and over again. You want change but you’re not willing to change enough to create the outcomes you want. Whether we want to believe it or not, this applies to most of us. We have created what we have in life because of who we are in the moment but we try to change things without changing ourselves and if we do that, metaphorically speaking, we’re going to be making cappuccino over and over again until you create changes in your life. What’s vital and I talk about in in this episode is that we make the necessary changes and we actually follow through with me. In this episode I talk about three ways your brain holds you back from change and what to do instead so you stop finding yourself like me, “making cappuccino,” and living your same life over and over. Transformational Takeaway: Nothing changes until you change. How would you be? What would you do? How would you talk? What would you say? How would you feel if you were the person who had the outcomes you want in life? Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 3: What Is The Story Of Your Life?

Ep 3: What Is The Story Of Your Life?

Start Your Transformation Now What is the story of your life? In this episode you learn that your stories control every single aspect of your life. Basically, your life is one big story. Everything in your life is a story and if you’re not getting what you want in life, what is your story about that? About money? Health? Relationships? If you want something in life and don’t yet have it, that means your current story doesn’t support the having of it. Listen to the full episode to learn how to create stories that support your dreams! In this episode I discuss: How I changed my story from hurting me to serving me How life reflects your stories What did your parents say to you when you were younger? Do you still carry this? Let’s examine your stories! Debilitating stories versus driving stories My brother-in-law the Shaman Transformational Takeaway: What experience of life do I want? What story will create that for me? Ep 2: Who Are You And What Is Your Identity?

Ep 2: Who Are You And What Is Your Identity?

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode we look at your identity and why you do what you do. You’ll learn that it doesn’t matter what you think you want and it doesn’t matter what you do because you only create in life what you are. Your identity is created from experiences in your life, then you create an interpretation from those experiences and then you tell yourself a story about it for the rest of your life. So, in order to change your identity, you must first ask “What would be the identity of someone who already has what I want?” Look for someone who already has what you want. Listen to the entire episode to learn about changing your identity! In this episode I discuss: How your identity is formed when you’re a small child How you have created an identity loop and it’s keeping you stuck How to determine what identity you have (hint look at your environment) Discovering your internal barometer What identity do you want? How do you get it? Transformational Takeaway: What identity would I need to have to create _____ in my life? Let's Connect:  Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE? Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Ep 1: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out

Start Your Transformation Now In this episode you'll discover why you’ve worked really hard, put in all the effort, the hours, the blood sweat and tears and you’re still not getting the results you want. If you’re like most people you are working backwards—working from the “have do be” model. If I had the money then I could hire someone and grow my business. This is a broken model! The model that you want to start working from is what I call “be do have” model. “Who or how do I have to be to do the things that I choose to do to have the success that I want?” In this episode I discuss: Are you working from an identity that sabotages you? How perfectionism didn’t stop me from getting this podcast out How most people are working backwards The “be do have” model (if you’re not using this, you’re sabotaging yourself!) Why people are setting goals in the wrong way The reason you haven’t created what you want to create in life Who are you really? Where were you before you landed on this planet? A powerful question to start asking yourself Transformational Takeaway: What am I committed to and how or who do I have to be to achieve _____?
