#370 Birth Time: The Documentary

Two of the four co-creators, Jerusha Sutton and Jo Hunter join us to discuss the backstory and making of their film and what is happening with birth in Australia. Blyss and Dr. Stu loved the film and share their insights with the filmmakers on what would it take for all women to emerge from their births physically well and emotionally safe.

About Jerusha Sutton:

Jerusha Sutton is a doula, and birth and family photographer and videographer. She is one of the co-creators of Birth Time: the documentary, a co-host of Birth Time: the podcast, a public speaker for birth advocacy, and an MC.

After becoming a doula in 2006 and working extensively in Australia and the UK, she was astounded by the beauty that she witnessed in the birth space and how vastly different it was to what we were seeing in mainstream media, so soon after set out to capture imagery of birth to that would portray the beauty, power and vulnerability of birth that she was seeing first hand. With a background in acting and film production, the creation of Birth Time was a culmination of her experience and passions.
