How can the Dallas Stars get Matt Duchene to stay?!??

Matt Duchene is having a phenomenal season with the Dallas Stars and is one of the best values in the entire NHL. Having 45 points in 48 games at 33 years old is going to catch the attention of teams for the pending Free Agent after the season. Joey gives what his "pitch" would be to keep Duchene and how the 1,000 game celebration last Saturday can go a long way for someone that has three young kids and looking for something more stable at this point in his career. The Stars are not only ready to win now, but in the future and he is not required to carry the heavy load of being the "guy" on the team. Of course you want him to stay, but the Stars are going to have to pay Thomas Harley, Sam Steel of Ty Dellandrea. The Stars may have to move off of one or two in order to get a deal done with Duchene, or is he willing to take less like he did this past offseason to remain in Dallas. Time will tell, but his impact has already been immense. The next segment, we look at the Western Conference playoff series if the season ended today. The Stars are the two seed in the Central Division and would host the Winnipeg Jets in the first round. The final segment takes a look at The Athletics Power Rankings right before the All-Star break. The Stars return to number five after being out for a few weeks. It states they are concerned about the Stars giving up 21 goals in the past six games, but Matt Duchene and Thomas Harley bursting on the scene helps. Vancouver, Boston, Edmonton and Colorado round out the top five.
