Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Germany’s 2-1 win over Romania

Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Germany’s 2-1 win over Romania

Germany managed to scrape a win against an extremely well-drilled Romania side in what becomes the first problematic game of Hansi Flick’s short tenure. Starting with five Bayern Munich players in the lineup, the Germans went down early to a goal by Ianis Hagi and struggled to stamp their authority on the game. While Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller eventually brought home all three points, questions will be asked about the nature of this performance. Here are our talking points from the game:How Hansi Flick got his lineup and tactics completely wrong. Giving credit to Romania for a strong performance at the back. Why Timo Werner and Marco Reus should not be starting for Germany anymore — at least in the role they have currently. The problem with Germany’s fullbacks at the moment. Some lovely Thomas Muller propaganda, which we always love to hear. Some experiments Hansi Flick needs to make in the upcoming games. As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Germany vs Romania (World Cup Qualifiers)

Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Germany vs Romania (World Cup Qualifiers)

With the international break now upon us, it’s time to shift our focus from Bayern Munich to Germany. Hansi Flick has made a winning start to life as Germany coach, and will want to continue gaining momentum in the buildup to next year’s world cup. However, there’s a lot of things to do and not much time to do it — he’ll have to be quick about his work. This October international break is the last one for a long time. Here are the talking points before the game:Admitting the shameful fact that I know nothing about Romania. How Hansi Flick might line up the team — formation, players, and so on. The Timo Werner issue, and how Flick may be planning to revive him. The midfield rotation problem — technically not a problem for Germany, but a headache for Bayern fans. Potential options in defense. Could Niklas Sule be moved to right-back? Or will it be Jonas Hofmann?Who will play left-back for Germany? How about ... Leroy Sane? As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works S4E9: Hating on the back-three, can Bayern Munich be challenged, Germany’s predicted XI, and more!

Bayern Munich have completed another week of football without any major incidents, well at least if you don’t include the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. Now, as club football enters another international break, we here at Bavarian Podcast Works take a look at some promised talking points from the last seven days. Full disclosure: this episode was recorded before the Bayern v Frankfurt game, so it doesn’t take that into account. In this episode, Ineednoname and Samrin discuss:The three-man backline, and why both hate it. Addressing the classic “Chelsea use it, why can’t Bayern” argument, and why it doesn’t apply. Why Benjamin Pavard is a problem (new arguments this time!!!). Have Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern Munich been challenged yet? Small tangent on goalkeepers, including Manuel Neuer, Gregor Kobel, and ter Stegen. Who could pose a decent threat to this team. Who are the big threats in the Bundesliga this season. How Hansi Flick could line up Germany with the return of Thomas Muller. As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Bayern Munich loses 1-2 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt

Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Bayern Munich loses 1-2 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich perhaps could have had more and should have had more. Kevin Trapp, as opposition keepers tend to when they play Bayern, had a wonderful game and perhaps will go down as man of the match. Manuel Neuer was no slouch either, helping in build up play, coming to almost the halfway line to stop Frankfurt’s breakaways.Bayern had more shots (by far) and more possession; Leroy Sané had a good game and put in plenty of effort but could not find the back of the net. Robert Lewandowski was very quiet, marked out of the game. His opposite number in Frankfurt, Rafael Santos Borré was isolated and basically also marked out of the game.Bayern’s first goal came courtesy of an error by Marin Hinteregger; his pass would deflect off a Bayern player and find its way to Leon Goretzka who would score his first Bundesliga goal of the season. Hinteregger himself would equalize from a corner. Very late on in the game, Filip Kostic would score the winner to hand Frankfurt a first league win of the season.Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Podcast Season 1, Episode 19 — Bayern Munich’s rampant form; Sabitzer’s lack of first team minutes; Coman’s uncertain future; and MORE!

Bayern Munich is looking unstoppable, and grabbed yet another lopsided victory against Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League. Nagelsmann has made all the right moves thus far, and this team looks really formidable and is certainly a treble contender. Yes, the new coach is yet to be tested by elite opposition, but the early signs are very promising.Bayern face Eintracht Frankfurt at home next, and we can safely expect a win from a team that’s looking overpowered right now.And on that note, we had quite a lot to discuss on this pod, most of it being quite positive (gasp!). Here are some of the topics we covered:Niklas Süle’s incredible form and the WhatsApp fiasco (again).Bayern’s superb recent form.Sabitzer’s lack of first team action, and what this means for him moving forward.More Bouna Sarr banter.Coman’s contract situation and whether he stays or leaves.Michael Cuisance slander.Cobra Kai, Game of Thrones and other stuff. As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bayern Munich will square off with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this weekend and the Bavarians will be looking to stay red hot. Bayern Munich is on an incredible run where everything that Julian Nagelsmann has touched is turning to gold. Can Die Roten keep it going? I’d wager to say they sure can. Here is what we have on tap for the episode: A quick look at who is out for Bayern Munich. The crazy draw streak that Eintracht Frankfurt is embroiled in. How Die Adler are less talented than in recent seasons. An appreciation of Filip Kostic. Who might start for Bayern Munich. A prediction on the match. As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich’s dismantling of Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League

Bayern Munich absolutely throttled Dynamo Kyiv 5-0 behind a completely dominant effort. This is yet another excellent victory in what has been a string of incredibly good performances. Julian Nagelsmann has his boys playing awesome in all areas of the pitch. Here is what we have on tap for this episode: A rundown of who scored, who played played, who subbed in. An appreciation of just how good things are going for Bayern Munich at this stage under Nagelsmann. A question on why Marcel Sabitzer is not getting more time than he has? Is it a slow integration? Is he under-performing at training? The good feelings of seeing Manuel Neuer wrap up another clean sheet. Some thoughts about how dangerous this team might be. As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany.
