TV maestro Baz Ashmawy is one of my absolute favourite people in telly.What you see is what you get. He’s genuine, funny and decent to the core.Having had huge success in his career, it hasn’t always been a smooth road for him.9 years ago, life was really tough; he underwent double-lung surgery and around the same time Irish TV stations had no interest in even meeting with him to discuss ideas.But despite it all, he kept working and creating and knocking on doors and it certainly paid off in the end.He pitched his show ‘50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy’ with his adorable Mam Nancy to SKY TV. They went on to win an EMMY Award and the TV format has now been sold all around the world.He lives in Rathmines with his wife Tanja and their six kids.And in this conversation, we talk about the kids going back to school, imposter syndrome, the power of manifestation, faking an appendectomy and plenty more!
