Kaytlin Bailey talks about being drawn to “bad girls” from an early age and then learning about the power of courtesans throughout history.

She tells us about becoming a sex worker by choice and from a place of privelege as a way to explore to find her own truth about sex, boundaries, and erotic experiences.

Insights into the connection between body autonomy, the ability to negotiate consent and sex work are examples from history and her own life.

The ladies talk about the difference between a lover and a client. All three agree that clients often treat us better than some past lovers in terms of respect, kindness and value of the time spent together.

This leads to a conversation about the spectrum of choice, circumstance and coercion for those who become sex workers.

In the Nevada brothel system there is a push to call ladies courtesans instead of escorts. That discussion leads to a conversation about names that includes the use of the term sugar baby or sugar babies.

Kaytlin is also a standup comic. She talks about the historical similarities between court jesters and courtesans. She turned her experiences into a critically acclaimed one woman show called Cuntagious. She is working on the second show called A Whore’s Eye View.
