Marc’s guest today is Angela Maculan of Maculan winery in the Veneto region of northern Italy. More about today’s guest: Angela Maculan is the best thing to come from the 1977 vintage, Fausto likes to joke. Ever since she was a child, she cultivated a passion for wine, running through the corridors of the winery and being curious about her father’s work, intent on following every stage of vinification from the arrival of the grapes through to bottling. Angela is still moved when she remembers the first time she was given permission to use secateurs in the vineyard, as well as the first business trip to her beloved United States, at the age of just nineteen. Following a high school diploma in scientific subjects, Angela graduated in Agricultural Sciences and Technology from the University of Padua. In parallel, she cultivated two of the great passions she holds in common with Fausto: wine and good food. Her educational and work trips became increasingly frequent, which gave her the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of wine and refine her palate by visiting the world’s most famous wine zones and tasting their outstanding products. So, in 2007, Angela took on the role of Sales Director and Export Manager of her family company.
