E8. Now is the time to understand Birth Trauma | Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist Dr Rebecca Moore

In this week’s episode I am joined by Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist Dr Rebecca Moore as we lift the lid on Birth Trauma. Rebecca has a wealth of experience working with women and their psychological needs and is the founder of Make Birth Better, a national campaign working to raise awareness of birth trauma. We discuss why it is imperative that awareness is raised, explain what it is and why around 1 in 3 are affected. Birth should be one of the most empowering and momentous experiences in a new parent’s life and yet for many there is a trauma that overshadows their birth. We discuss signs to look out for and how we can try to prevent birth trauma occurring.
