38. Realizing How WELL You Can Feel With Megan Kingdon

38. Realizing How WELL You Can Feel With Megan Kingdon

Today’s guest is Megan Kingdon, founder and medical director at Well Room in Charlottesville, VA. Megan’s work in healthcare was born of her lifelong fascination and study of the human body, health and the ways our lifestyle dictate wellness. Her curiosity and study led her to become a Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner - earning a dual Master’s degree from Columbia University in Adult and Women’s Health, as well as a subspecialty in Integrative Medicine. While earning her Masters in NYC, she became a certified Yoga instructor (RYT). In 2011 she became a Functional Nutritional coach in order to dive deeper and help clients achieve their best health. A lifelong learner, Megan is a certified IV therapy provider and has trained in herbalism, functional medicine, and aesthetics.

In our conversation we discuss:

  • How Megan’s background in the traditional medical system combined with a diagnoses inspired her to take a more integrative and functional approach to her career path
  • IV Therapy, what you need to know and why it is such a wonderful tool in your wellness toolkit
  • The issues Megan sees over and over in her clients, and how her services guide them to a better feeling place
  • How Megan’s definition of wellness has evolved, and what finding joy and purpose has to do with it
  • Why cleaning up your skin care and other beauty and household products is just as important for health
