Curt and Kevin Talk Jimmie Johnson Ownership and Recap the 2025 24 Hours of Daytona!

Tonight, on Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, they talk about Curt’s recent induction into the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame. They talk about McLaren and Zak Brown eyeing an expansion into sportscars and it could potentially impact their IndyCar and Formula E teams. They also talk about Jimmie Johnson becoming the majority owner of Legacy Motor Club along with Knighthead Capital Management taking a minority stake. There are also reports according to Tony Donohue, that Jimmie Johnson could co-own an Indianapolis 500 ride with Tom Brady for Chip Ganassi Racing and Sebastien Bourdais being the driver. They also talk about Takuma Sato being in high talks for another Indy 500 one-off.

Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about Penske Entertainment will take over promoting the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix.

To wrap up the first hour of the show, Kevin answers some fan questions from X and previews the second hour.

To start the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about what the practice schedule could look like for the IndyCar season. They recap the 24 Hours of Daytona with Porsche Penske going back-to-back as Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, and Laurens Vanthoor being the overall winners. They also talk about how other IndyCar drivers finished in the race and how the TV crew managed themselves for 24 hours. Later, they talk about ticket prices for the Thermal Club race.

Later in the second hour of the program, they talk about the second FOX IndyCar driver commercial featuring Alex Palou, and that there will be one more with Pato O’Ward and more commercials during the Super Bowl.

Then to wrap up another addition of the show, Kevin recaps the results of the IndyCar testing at Thermal Club and previews the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium.
