Welcome to the Next Generation and Episode 2243 of the Italian Wine Podcast. Today, Karla Ravagnolo interviews Diego Zimmardi, a young winemaker from Sicily. More about today’s guest: Diego is a young winemaker from Sicily who is completely in love with the world of wine. During his studies at the University, he joined the Microbiology of Wine research group to develop new protocols of vinification for every cellar size. After graduation, he decided to discover the world of wine by himself, so he started to travel and work in South Africa, Portugal, Chile, Austria, Hungary and France, always studying and diving deeper on themes such as Biodynamic and Natural wine. Throughout the years, in order to save money for travels and studies, he worked as a waiter and sommelier and got his WSET Level 3 certificate.
