Episode 13: Competing as a Capitalist in a Corporatist Society with Matt Rogers

Matt Rogers and I have a great conversation about being competitive in a market that seems to become more anti-competitive every year.

How do you compete in a market where large corporations spend more profits on lobbyists to create barriers to competition and privilege than they do on improving their products and services, delivery and implementation, customer service or anything else that a capitalist free-market model would obligate you to do?

As we continue to muddy the water with inaccurate or deceptive definitions of words in the business world, one that seems to have almost totally changed its meaning is the word capitalism.

As the world drifts more towards a model of anti-competitive corporatism putting a free market in check, new businesses have greater challenges in competing with the incumbents. While corporatism rewards those who lobby, cheat, and deceive, capitalism rewards those who innovate and simply perform better in every way than their competition.
