She is a Functional Wellness Practitioner and Doctor of Chiropractic who specializes in women’s sex hormones, thyroid hormones, and healing after thyroidectomy. At 19, Dr. Rebecca was diagnosed with Follicular Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma and had a complete thyroidectomy with high dose radiation- all of which was completely unnecessary. Rebecca specializes in the thyroid; over 90% of thyroid disorders, whether you're hyper or hypo is an autoimmune disorders. When you have an autoimmune disorder, you get a name for it, like Hashimotos. You don’t just have a thyroid issue; you have a whole body issue. When you have one autoimmune disorder in your body, you're three times as likely to develop another. [06:50] Are the COVID Vaccines Leading To Thyroid Issues? You must ensure you've got the nutrition down; that's foundational. When your adrenals are good, then you have to start detoxing. Rebecca implores everyone to look at what's happened with their health in the last two and a half years. Having the COVID virus can create a thyroid storm and a thyroid issue. Two or three COVID vaccinations are also leading to thyroid issues. [16:00] The Thyroid Tests to Ask Your Doctor For As Soon As Possible You need a full wellness panel. First, look at your C-reactive protein. Also, make sure you know your fasting insulin and homocysteine. Homocysteine levels that are trending high mean there will be a methylation issue. When looking at thyroid, you need to do the full panel. Above all, make sure you know your Reverse T3. TSI, TPO, and thyroid globulin antibodies are also essential. Get these numbers done every single year; if they start to rise, you need to do something about it. You want to decrease your markers as much as you can. The problem that happens with Hashimotos is thyroid tissue destruction. When there is an attack, you’re going to have more symptoms. You need to get the trigger under control. Then, do things that increase healthy cell growth. [46:20] What's the Relationship Between Liver and Thyroid Health? What's happening in the liver? Not only will it affect how many active hormones are available, but it will also determine how much Reverse T3 you're making.
